Name: Thomas Hammond
Alias/Nicknames: Tom, Tommy
Sex: male
Species: human
Ethnicity: American
Age: 32
Position: Necromancer
Occupation: Necromancer
Residence: Motel 6

Parents: deceased
Siblings: older brother Danien

Appearance: Tom is not conventionally handsome, but has something off beat about him that makes him appealing. He’s quite tall, standing at 6’2, but built quite slender, he doesn’t look like it would take much to knock him over. His smile when seen is wide and charming. He does have large teeth. His eyes are a warm burnt umber colour, just a few shades lighter than his hair, which is thick, but kept short. Tom doesn’t shave very often, sometimes for days on end and is usually left with some growth and stubble on his chin.
Dress Style: Dress sense isn’t really something Tom particularly cares about much. He has smart clothes, a few suits, some nice pants and shirts, and one good pair of black shoes. Though most of the time, he’s a good old favourite jeans and t-shirt guy.
Marks/Scars/Tattoos: None
Carried Possessions: Wallet, Cell phone, pack of playing cards

Personality: Tom’s moods shift a lot, depending on whereabouts he is, or who he’s hanging out with, or what his current job it. His job has a big effect on him and how he behaves, having power over the dead can sometimes make him very melancholy, thinking it’s a strange and depressing power. Or on the flipside, he can try to use it to flirt, and be the strange mysterious cool guy. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t. He’s quite charming when he wants to be and is got and getting information without directly asking for it, finding and remembering little things. Generally Tom doesn’t do anything with the info, its just something he likes to do.
Hobbies: Baseball, card games- particularly black jack and poker
Talents: Tom is a necromancer, and animator with the power to raise the dead. A power gained from his father’s side of the family, who had several animators, and one necromancer several generations back, Tom inherited the darker power. He can raise up to 2 zombies a night, one over 150 years old, with the use of a “white rabbit”. He can also hold power over weak vampires. As the case with a lot of animators, Tom’s powers are put to better use at night. Tom’s trained in general self defence, took a few karate lessons as a teenager, had the potential to pursue the talent but never really got around to it. He’s also got a surprisingly good singing voice, usually heard only by himself in the shower (or anyone who spends the night). He’s also pretty good with card games and seems a little too naturally lucky.
Weaknesses: Tom’s necromancy power depresses him a lot. He doesn’t know why. He does believe that the dead should stay dead and be left alone for the majority of the time, but on the other hand, he knows he needs to make a living and animating combined with necromancy makes him a lot of money. Tom finds himself in a lot of moral difficulty when his job is concerned and doesn’t know how to deal with it. He doesn’t like talking about it, so he deals with it by drinking or flirting. He’s also got a weakness for gambling and impulsive spending on electrical flashy objects he doesn’t need, just has them to show off.

History:
Tom’s life was fairly normal until his college years. He was a pretty average student, graduated high school, attractive enough to have a few long term girlfriends and a few flings. When he was in college he discovered his animating power. He knew of the gift, his father was an animator for a local firm in his home town.
They had several animators and a necromancer in the family history dating back generations. Tom and his friends had decided to pull a Halloween prank to scare a professor that was mean and kept giving them bad grades. Tom’s friends knew of his family history and gave him the task of raising the zombie, figuring he was their best shot. And he was. Unfortunately for them, the boys were not aware of a new vampire who had come into their small college town, and had spotted them in the cemetery, and decided to make them her breakfast. The zombie was raised, the boys were putting their prank into place, throwing in a lot of booze and some cocaine on top of it.
A disaster waiting to happen. The vampire attacked, killing two of the boys, but when Tom yelled at her to stop, she did. He found himself with the zombie and vampire on his hands, and not having any idea how to deal with them, drunk, and high, he simply freaked and ran, not wanting to deal with the consequences. He hid under the bleachers on the football field and passed out. When he woke, Tom was haunted by the memories of the previous night. He knew he had to get out of town. He didn’t want to face what had happened. So he packed a bag, drained his bank accounts and skipped town. He moved around various states, taking dull jobs to keep himself going.
Tom had nightmares for years about that terrible night, and decided that conquering his powers might make him feel better. It took some work, but eventually he found in the city of Chicago (with some help) a necromancer who was willing to train him in conquering his ability. Tom’s mentor taught him how to use the abilities successfully and even got him a regular job. The morality of it all still bothered Tom greatly, and his reluctance to deal with it through proper therapy lead to a few problems, namely drinking too much, but he gets by.
